STRESS

Stress is a word used to cover a large variety of words which include fear, pressure, panic, conflict, anxiety, fatigue, burdens, strain, unhappiness, upset or tension. As well as different meanings for stress it also comes in different forms. Physical stress (like pain), emotional stress (like jealousy) and mental stress (like decision making). Stress is caused by any change, the threat of change or the possibility of change. Stress may come from the outside, environmental stress from the climate, family, community, government etc and we may have limited or no control over it, or from ourselves, self imposed stress such as when we put pressure on ourselves to do things that are not necessary or perform perfectly in every situation.

Though stress is a purely mental phenomenon, it can have some very serious and real effect on your physical health. Stress may manifest itself initially in many forms such as sweating, headaches, insomnia, upset stomach, skin rashes, hair loss, racing heartbeat, high blood pressure, diarrhoea, loss of sex drive, back pain, and muscle aches. Stress doesn't just arise from unpleasant, aggravating events. Positive happenings like getting married, starting a new job, being pregnant or winning an election can also tense us up. Stress isn't all bad, either. In fact, it protects us in many instances by priming the body to react quickly to adverse situations. This fight-or-flight response helped keep human beings alive when their environment demanded quick physical reactions in response to threats. The problem in modern times is that our body's stress response is regularly triggered even though our lives are not in danger. Chronic exposure to stress hormones like cortosol can damage the body. More serious long term effects may be , heart disease, skin disorders, addictions, peptic ulcers, depression or even post traumatic stress disorder. Evidence shows chronic stress can lower immunity and make people more susceptible to infections. Conversely, stress-reduction strategies and relaxation have been shown to help reverse this effect (by increasing the number of infection-fighting T cells and feel-good chemicals called endorphins in the body, for example) and prevent disease.

For help with stress with Hypnotherapy in North London, East London & The City, Lauren will use a multiple of approaches attacking the issues on as many levels as necessary. EFT, NLP , CBT and Hypnotherapy are widely recognised as effective tools for the treatment and ultimately the resolution of coping with stressors. Hypnotherapy NLP and CBT works excellently, using stress reductions strategies such as goal setting, visualisations and techniques to uncover any stressors. When working with Hypnotherapy for stress, the state of Hypnosis will be widely used for the purpose of relaxation, to stimulate the part of the nervous system responsible for releasing relaxation chemicals into the body and to teach self hypnosis for the management of stress on an everyday level and to enhance regular relaxation.
